I found a vintage metal desk on Craigslist. It's a bit banged up, but just what I was looking for and cheap. It was a steal at only $20. I almost had a nervous breakdown when my husband and our neighbor brought it into the house. This thing is massive and hea-vy! I had to refrain from intervening and shield my eyes as they made it upstairs and through the door. I can't believe they did it to be honest. If I factor in the cost of repair to fix all the dings in the walls and scrapes on the banister, the whole production far exceeds my $20 investment, but it was well worth it. We put it in the corner of our bedroom where Lu's crib used to be. She never took to her crib anyway so it was just wasted space. Not anymore. Now I have a place to call my own... well, Lu thinks it's HER desk, too. I'll have to share. It's so nice to have a place to steal away to when I need to work on my school assignments. Most of the things I on my our desk are actually "nursery" decorations I've collected for Lu. I chose elephants as her theme so that explains all of them. You might be wondering about that by the end of this post. Here's my space...

Little Lu loves to sit on my desk and explore all of the fun things. |

She made this game up on her own. Which pen will fit? |

She likes it under the desk, too. It makes a great hideout for reading {or pouting}. |

HOT??!! She knows that word all too well. Momma loves her coffee. |

In addition to the pen holder, the lamp and chair were my grandpa's, too. I know he's smiling down on me as I type. |

Now I have an official place to be productive and it's nice to have a quiet retreat where I can gather my thoughts.
Thank you, hubbee, for schlepping my desk upstairs without one. single. complaint. I am so lucky. xxo
