Recently, our yard was overtaken by dandelions. Rain had delayed mowing which gave Lu the opportunity to discover the joy of blowing dandelion spheres. I was reminded of this post (which I can not believe was three years ago!) and decided to repost it in honor of the magic of making wishes on dandelions.
Dandelion
some may think of you as a weed
but not of all the bees you feed
you begin the honeybee season
assisting in life's purpose and reason
like magic your yellow petals will appear
to change in an instant into a sphere
and childhood memories grow for him
as the parachutes are blown from their stem
