DIY | Grow An Avocado Tree

My son is always wanting to bury fruit pits in our back yard, so I decided we try our luck at growing an avocado tree.  I found these instructions to be really helpful.  It's been two weeks and watching our seed's transition has been so interesting.  After about a week, our avocado seed's skin began to peel off so I helped it along and now it's naked.  It has a huge fissure down the side and we're patiently waiting for  the root to form.  I look forward to sharing it's progress.  Have you ever tried to grow an avocado tree before?
