The party planning for Lucia's second birthday celebration is beginning to amp up. All the party inspiration is centered around her invitations. Think confetti, chalkboard, and cupcakes. We're requesting charity donations in lieu of presents so I don't want to go too overboard on the decorations. I've collected a few simple DIY projects to try and this is the perfect opportunity. Here's what I'm thinking so far...
I'm definitely going to include these DIY confetti balloons. I might still make Lu a shirt like last year, but if not I'll opt for a simple tee like this one that she can wear again. It reads 'from little things big things grow'. How appropriate, right? Then I'll make it more festive with a pretty birthday crown. Back to birthday decor... I would really love to attempt to make a number two like this. It seems simple enough to make with a piece of wood, some embroidery thread, and nails. I'm also totally smitten with these honeycomb fancies. I'm thinking white honeycombs with bold, colorful and gold tails. Then these pinata boxes are adorable, but I'm not quite sure how to incorporate them into the party just yet. These fabric wrapped twigs will definitely stand out as centerpieces on the table along with a few succulents in colorful tins. I'm going to spray paint some old chairs to give them a little update for extra seating. If the weather is nice, we'll invite our guests to migrate outdoors and that's just the excuse I need to finally paint my picnic table. Maybe a few fabric wrapped bottles if I need some filler decor. For myself, I can easily make a polka dot necklace to match the festivities. Well, that's where my thoughts are now. I'm getting excited! I live for this stuff. Couldn't we all just be party planners for a living???!! ;)
