Following up with some more ideas to add to my list of birthday inspiration for Little Lu's upcoming celebration. I love the whole evolution of the party planning. Some ideas have come and gone like my plan to paint our picnic table and stools. Rain is in the forecast all week and I'm just not going to get it done. Also, I'm not going to shell out nearly $40 (w/ shipping) for this shirt, so I'm going to make my first attempt at at-home screen printing. Any tips? Then I'm thinking of having our guests paint rocks with paint pens with a sweet doodle or message wishing Lucia birthday wishes for the coming year. This will continue our tradition like the wishing well I had last year. To display the rocks I'm going to pick up a cheap glass container at the Dollar Tree and spruce it up with some gold paint. Also, at the dollar store is inexpensive flower wire that I'm going to use to make a birthday crown for Lu.
Next, I ordered a 40" gold foil number two to keep in tradition with last year. This will be a fun thing to do each year. Probably the most expensive, too, because it costs a ton to fill up! I'm thinking of doing it this year with an at-home helium tank like this one. I absolutely adore the mini versions from ruby's 2nd birthday party. Hopefully, after I fill up that gigantic balloon there'll be helium left for a few clear balloons. I've been working on making confetti to put inside the balloons, but trying to make confetti with a toddler's "help" isn't so easy. The process has been pretty straight forward otherwise. I've been using a three ring hole puncher which makes the process a bit faster and I'm pleased with the color options in this Kid Made Modern set. I'm still figuring out the best supplies to make the tails of the balloons. I have a vast array of colored tissue and I bought this metallic gold fringe curtain to cut up. I'm still planning on making these honeycomb fancies, too. The last item on my to-do will be the cake and cupcakes. These two options are adorable and the confetti will fit right in with her party theme. Which one do you like best?
There's so much left to do! I need a few more hours in the day. Looks like I'll have a few late nights. Oh well, I work best under pressure. ;) Ta ta for now. Taking some time away to trick-or-treat and party!
