Don't Ask Me, "Are We There Yet?" | Road Trip Essentials for Mommy

Yesterday I shared my road trip essentials for the kiddos and today I thought I'd share a few of
the things I'll be employing to keep myself sane on our long drive.

1. On this trip I'm going to continue on my path of enlightenment and I hope that these two books are just what I'm seeking next.  I checked out the audio cds of Carry On, Warrior at the library and plan to spend hotel nights reading Daring Greatly.  I just hope the kids cooperate.  ;)

2. Don't I wish I looked like her.  But seriously, I'll def be copying her easy, breezy travel style.  Dresses and sandals all the way.  I also made myself a pretty bracelet similar to this one with a moonstone for spiritual insight, safe travels, and new beginnings.  (It used to be a part of a necklace I wore when I delivered Lu and it seriously helped me with an easy childbirth)

3. Music!  All I need to be happy is music, quiet kids, and the open road.  Mindy Gledhill is new to me and Sara Bareilles just released her new album and I've been saving it for this trip.

4. Two great apps to help a mother out -- Roadtrippers helped me plan our route and find all of those quirky roadside attractions to make our stops more fun.  And Happy Cow will help me find veg friendly restaurants wherever we go making for a kinder trip.

5. To encourage myself to stay super hydrated on the road I'll infuse my water with vitamin goodness -- this andthis are my faves.

6. A nail polish named Optimistic has gotta put you in a good mood, right?  Plus a refreshing, summery lip balm to keep my pucker happy.

What are your favorite road trip essentials?
